Balloons are a great addition to any party; they add decoration and are a lot of fun to have around, no matter your age. Quite often, the morning after your party, the last thing you’ll want to experience is the loud popping of balloons, amongst throwing away all the pieces of half-eaten food, old plastic cups and general mess.
Whilst there are times you will enjoy popping balloons, there is a quick and simple way of quietly disposing of them that means you can clean up your post-party mess with minimal aggravation of your headache. If you’re wondering why you don’t just untie the knot in the balloon, many people do not have the time or the patience to do so. This method only takes seconds and requires minimal skill or concentration.
What you need
In order to do this, you will need your hands, a blown up balloon and a pair of general purpose scissors. It’s that simple.
Firstly, place your index and middle finger around the balloon, above the knot and squeeze it between these two fingers.
Using your index and middle finger, stretch out the neck of the balloon. Hold the balloon back by using your thumb and ring finger.
Pinch shut your thumb and ring finger around the neck of your balloon.
At this point, the balloon either side of the knot should be stretched and pinched shut.
Take your scissors in your other hand and cut just below the knot. Try not to cut all the way across the balloon, so that it remains in one piece. This means that you’ll have less to clear up after your party.
Simply let go of the end of the balloon to let out the air. Once deflated, simply dispose of your balloon and repeat with the others.
So, when you next wake up to cleaning a house after a party, simply drink a glass of orange juice, have a bacon roll, take a couple of headache tablets and use this method to quickly and quietly start your clean-up process. Easier than unknotting balloons and quieter than popping, before you know it, your house will be clean and you can spend the rest of the day catching up on sleep and relaxing in a clean and tidy house.
